SCALE U Receives Assoc. of MN Counties Achievement Award

Julie is honored to have taught two workshops, “Delegating for Results” and “Leading Change” in Scott County’s SCALE University.  Recently, the program received an award:
Scale U Award 2013
SCALE University was one of six programs recognized by the Association of MN Counties with a 2013 County Achievement Award for “exhibiting excellence and innovations in their counties”. Page four of the attached the press release provides a brief summary; the award was presented at the annual conference and was accepted by Scott County Administrator Gary Shelton and three of our board members.
 
As members of the SCALE U faculty you are key contributors to the success of this program; we received this award because of the great training, education, coaching, and learning you provide our students. Thank you for being part of this program- I could not do this without you.

Assess Training Needs

Part of the Professional Trainer Certificate, University of Minnesota Continuing Education

Identifying training needs and deciding on solutions is a challenge virtually every training professional experiences. Using various assessment tools and best practices enables you to identify the knowledge and skills gaps of your training audiences. This course will focus on uncovering root causes of performance problems and linking needs analysis results to specific performance improvement solutions. You will learn not only what to ask, buthow to ask it.

Following the course you will be able to:

  • Ensure success by gaining commitment from senior leadership
  • Assess training needs at the individual, group, and organization level
  • Develop assessment instruments such as surveys, and conduct focus groups
  • Link needs assessment to organization strategy and competency profiles/models
  • Determine when training is an appropriate performance improvement solution
